We have had so many special services lately! Thanksgiving, Hanging of the Green, and now we must add the shepherds Sunday to the list! Tyler Redmond was great in his reprisal of a Bible character. I remember the first time he read something in church, it was Palm Sunday 2010, and he was so small at that point, he had to have a stool to see over the pulpit! It is wonderful to have so many willing to try something new to make our worship of the Lord better, I am hoping 2014 will be the Year of Participation just as 2013 was the Year of Encouragement. Of course as a father and as a pastor, I was so proud to see Meg Burnett play the prelude before the service. She practiced so much I felt like George Bailey in “It’s a Wonderful Life!” It’s this time of year we all must remember to cherish what God has given us just like George did in the story. I love and cherish each and every one of you as part of my own family, and this only grows stronger as the days go by!
I can’t wait to see what talents will be expressed to us in the coming weeks. I saw a gaggle of girls practicing stringed instruments this week, and I believe we will all continue to be surprised and happy worshiping through the leadership of our students! This week we will be looking at the role of the angels in the nativity story and beyond. I know all of us will be listening for the Message of the Lord in this season of Christmas.
May God Bless us every one!
